What's New in SAP Master Data Governance, cloud edition 2411?

SAP Master Data Governance, cloud edition is a software-as-a-service (Saas) solution on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) that is used to govern core attributes of business partner data (more domains planned). It is perfectly suited for organizations kick-starting a master data management initiative at low entry barriers. What's New?

Continuing the blog series about innovations in SAP Master Data Governance, cloud edition, I'd like to provide you with details on the latest innovations with SAP Master Data Governance, cloud edition 2411. 

General Remark

Generally, a new version of several existing apps is available to provide new functionalities, for example, simulation of validation rules and additional process attributes. You can recognize the previous versions that have now been deprecated by the Deprecated label on the tiles. Note that a user can only use either all deprecated or all new versions when working with SAP Master Data Governance, cloud edition. We recommend using the new version of all apps as soon as possible, as the deprecated versions will be removed in the next release.

Updates in Data Quality Management

Data quality management comes with new apps to support derivation scenarios, validation rules and analytics, and a new version of the validation rules app. 

New and enhanced apps in data quality management

In detail, the increased scope in data quality management for business partner data, enables master data specialists to:

• Define derivation scenarios
  • With the new Define Derivation Scenarios for Business Partners app, you can create and edit derivation scenarios for your business partner data. You use derivation scenarios to deduce master data based on rules and a defined scope to ensure data quality.
• Import/export of derivation scenarios
  • With the new Import Derivation Scenarios app, you can import derivation scenarios and their rules, which you previously downloaded using the Export Validation Rules app. Validation rules, their business details and their BRFplus implementation can be imported.

• Import/export of validation rules
  • With the new Import Validation Rules app, you can import validation rules, which you previously downloaded using the Export Validation Rules app. Validation rules, their business details and their BRFplus implementation can be imported.
  • With the new Export Validation Rules app, you can download validation rules, which are managed in the Validation Rules for Business Partners app, to then import them into another system. Validation rule exports contain validation rules, their business details and their BRFplus implementation.

Exporting validation rules

• The new version of the Validation Rules for Business Partners app offers the following new features:
  • Copy validation rules
  • Simulate validation rules to check if they work as intended and to get a preview of the rule results
  • Check if the rule is assigned to any dimensions, which is done in the Configure Data Quality Scores for Business Partners app descibed in the following:
  • The new Configure Data Quality Scores app allows key users to define their data quality reporting structure by using Categories and Dimensions. The aggregation of rules scores to data quality dimensions and categories is as follows:

Categories	Multiple categories supported Score: Average of dimension scores  Thresholds: Target, Warning, Critical
Dimensions	Multiple dimensions supported  Score: weighted average of rule scores
Rules	Assigned to dimension with Impact Multiple assignments possible, but only once per category

 Improvements in Business Partner Hierarchy Management

New features in Track Changes – Business Partner Hierarchies and Track Changes – Business Partner Hierarchy Nodes apps

• A value help was added to the Business Partner Hierarchy and Business Partner Hierarchy Node fields. In the Track Changes - Business Partner Hierarchy Nodes app, you can search for a hierarchy ID or hierarchy description to find the associated nodes.

New features in new Manage Business Partner Hierarchies app

• The following new features are available in the new version of the Manage Business Partner Hierarchies app:

  • The node ID is now generated automatically if you leave the field empty. The generated node ID is based on the hierarchy ID and a counter.

  • The system can generate node descriptions automatically. To generate one, add a business partner to a node and choose Accept. The first and second word of the business partner will be used as node description.
  • The search filters Business Partner and Hierarchy Node ID are now available. These filters can help you to find the associated hierarchy.
  • You can now edit a hierarchy that is in a process in the Process Information tab. In this tab, you can change the Process Description, Process Template, Priority, Due Date, and Reason.
  • When you make changes to your hierarchy, you can now see the Node Status column in the app. Edited nodes are displayed as Changed or Inserted. Deleted nodes disappear from the hierarchy.

Additional Improvements in Business Partner Processing

Additional innovations include:

• With the new My Governance Processes - Business Partner app you can display business partner processes that have been started by you. The system displays the list of processes as well as the number of business partners, BP relationships and hierarchies.

• With a new feature in the Maintain process attributes for Manage Business Partners and Manage Business Processes apps you can now maintain special attributes such as priority, due date or reason to categorize and analyze master data processes when you create or change a business partner. This information can be changed as long as the process is not activated or cancelled.
