Introduction

SAP is broadening SAP Cloud ALM by new capabilities which leads to efficiency, transparency, automation, and quality of the implementation projects. The newest Test Management capabilities presented at the SAP ALM Summit EMEA 2025 clearly indicate that SAP is very committed to providing a modern, cloud-driven ALM experience.

Following the latest SAP ALM Summit announcements, SAP has made a huge number of improvements in Test Management since late 2024.

The major upgrades that have been introduced cover following topics:

Improved structuring & scalability:

  • Mass Upload of Manual Test Cases – making it easy to bulk onboard testing assets
  • Direct Upload of SAP Best Practices Test Cases
  • Test Case Assignment to Process Hierarchy
  • References for Test Cases (e.g., data sheets, sample files)
  • Test Cases Assignment to Applications & Interfaces

Enhanced orchestration & sequencing:

  • Simple Test Sequences for defining execution order
  • Change Test Case Assignment to scope, solution processes, and diagrams

Better governance & data quality:

  • Restricting deletion: Helping the user to not delete test cases with existing results
  • Reset Test Action for a clean re-execution
  • Test Plan Copy for reusability
  • Test Plan Status filter for more focused execution views
  • Defect Reporting per Test Plan
  • Create or assign Features directly from Defects

These enhancements substantially help to cut down on the manual work, increase the consistency level, and give test managers greater authority over test lifecycle governance.

Overview of the most significant Test Management Improvements

The sections below highlight the most significant Test Management enhancements in SAP Cloud ALM, along with illustrative screenshots

Test Case Assignment to Process Hierarchy

This feature enhances the connection between business design and test execution. Testers can get the preparation and execution status directly in the process context

Defect Reporting per Test Plan

A dedicated view enables the team to analyze defect trends, locate blockers, and speed up the resolution process.

Mass upload of manual Test Cases

While‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ companies are moving their operations to the cloud at a fast pace, testing teams are usually put in a difficult position of figuring out how they can get a huge number of test cases onboard in a quick, consistent manner and without having to do manual data entry. The recently launched mass upload feature is the answer to this problem in the first place, and it also paves the way for a next-generation scalable method of creating and managing tests in SAP Cloud ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ALM.

Test Sequences:

Traditional test execution often relies on manual coordination. Testers must communicate informally about which test case should be executed when, and dependencies must be tracked separately. The new Test Sequences capability in SAP Cloud ALM addresses this need directly, enabling more structure and clarity in complex test cycles.

Change Test Case assignment to scope, solution process and diagram:

This‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ improvement makes sure that test cases are updated according to the solution design as it changes, thus, testers and architects do not have to duplicate the content.

Conclusion:

These‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ changes drastically cut down on the manual work required, make collaboration easier between project teams, and extend control to the entire testing lifecycle across the organization.

SAP Cloud ALM is thus the tool to help customers who are still on their way to the cloud but want to keep up with the pace and deliver consistent, high-quality results.

For ALM practitioners, test managers, and project teams, now is the ideal time to explore these new features and embed them into your daily practices.
