SAP Analytics Cloud brings together analytics and planning with unique integration to SAP applications and seamless access to heterogenous data sources. It helps everyone in your organization make decisions without doubt with trusted insights and integrated plans.

This blog post introduces the features of the SAP Analytics Cloud 2024.11 release available for SAP Analytics Cloud FastTrack customers. For SAP Analytics Cloud Quarterly Release Cycle (QRC) customers, this release and its features will be available as part of the QRC Q3 2024 release. View the QRC release schedule here.

System Administration and Technical Requirements

Although not required, you may upgrade to the latest SAP Analytics Cloud agent version 1.0.407 to take advantage of all data acquisition types.

The agent’s minimum version remains at 1.0.75, with the following exceptions:

  • Version 1.0.99 for SAP ERP/SQL Database
  • Version 1.0.365 for SAP universe (UNX). The SAP Analytics Cloud agent requires additional setup steps, for more details see SAP Note 3262098
  • Version 1.0.353 for SAP Business Warehouse (BW)
  • Version 1.0.235 for SAP HANA View
  • Version 1.0.248 for File Server

For more information, see System Requirements and Technical Prerequisites.

Regarding supported features and required updates for the integration of SAP BW with SAP Analytics Cloud, refer to SAP Note 2541557 for further details.

Regarding supported features and required updates for live universe access through SAP BusinessObjects Live Data Connect with SAP Analytics Cloud, refer to SAP Note 2771921 for further details.

Please download the latest version of the Simple Deployment Kit from Software Center.

Note: To avoid downloading older versions and potentially exposing users to a vulnerable bundling of the Cloud Connector with SAPJVM, or Apache Tomcat, only the three latest versions of the kits are available to download.

For Cloud agent version change management details, refer to SAP Note 3264839.

Administration and Service Management

Prevent loss of SAP Analytics Cloud tenant Accidentally Deleted via BTP

If you accidentally delete your service instance in the SAP BTP cockpit, it can be restored within seven days. Learn more here.

Data Exploration

Add Calculations on Structure Members for two Structure BW Queries in Data Analyzer

A "+Add Calculations" button has been added in the Structure section of the Available Objects panel. This allows the creation of calculations using structure members in two structured queries on BW.

Persistence of last used values in Data Analyzer

The last used values for defined components and interactions are now kept so that when data analyzer is reopened, the options are the same. That way as a data analyzer user you can now set the following:

  • Show/hide the filter line by default
  • Open/close individually the styling panel and the builder panel & available objects list
  • Expand/collapse the styling panel and the builder panel & available objects list by default
  • Set the system and connection type by default in the data source browser
  • Keep all settings in the individual export dialogs for PDF, Microsoft Excel and CSV export (except for Export name)

Data Integration

Data Export API - Delta Difference

Data Export Service API subscriptions has been extended to support the calculation of the difference between old and new numerical delta values when performing a Delta Extraction, rather than just new measure values.

Support X509 certificate auth for OData-based Connections

Users can now select Client Certificate authentication and use an X.509 certificate for generic OData connections, SAP Business ByDesign Analytics and SAP S4/HANA Cloud connections.

Story Design

Optimized Story Experience now supports Export as Google Slides

The optimized story experience now supports export as Google Slides. Google Slides can be saved as a new presentation, or the slides can be added to an existing presentation in a Google Drive folder.

This is not supported in the lite viewer.

Lite Viewer now Supports Bubble Layers with Color by Dimension in Geographical Visualizations

The Lite Viewer now supports color by dimension for the bubble layer in geo maps. Bubble Layers with Color by Dimension will no longer cause an automatic redirect to the Full Viewer.

There are few improvements that have been made to the interactivity of Geographical Visualizations which includes:

  • Improved Interaction with Color by Dimension Bubble
  • Consolidation of Drill with Tooltip
  • Improved Threshold Tooltip

Story Extensibility

In the optimized story experience, dynamic text and variable related script APIs such as getVariables and getVariableValues now support non-input-ready variables.

Retrieve the variables that are not input ready, such as customer exit variables, from a live connection to SAP Business Warehouse (SAP BW):

  • As Dynamic Text
  • Through script APIs
    • getDataSource().getVariableValues()
    • getDataSource().getVariables
