A new maintenance and support strategy
One of the most important aspects of SAP BusinessObjects BI 2025 is its continuous maintenance and support plan. SAP is committed to keeping BusinessObjects available both on-premise and as a managed cloud solution beyond 2030, giving businesses the flexibility to choose the deployment path that works best for them.
SAP BusinessObjects BI 2025 is not just another update—it represents a commitment to continuous innovation and support. Unlike previous versions, we are now moving toward a model of minor releases (BI 20xx) every 2 years, with a 6 to 8-week cumulative patch cycle during the 3 years of the mainstream maintenance, followed by a Customer-Specific Maintenance (CSM) period.
SAP has extended mainstream maintenance for BI 4.3 until the end of 2026, ensuring that businesses have ample time to transition smoothly, followed again by a Customer-Specific Maintenance (CSM) period.
Security remains a top priority, with ongoing cumulative patches to address critical and very high vulnerabilities (CVSS >= 7) for the first 12 months following the end of the mainstream maintenance.
Additionally, we transition away from Priority 1 (P1) fixes and from Service Packs for the Customer Specific Maintenance (CSM).
Altogether, this new approach ensures better security, continuous improvements, a more agile approach to keeping your BI environment secure and efficient, and a roadmap that aligns with your business strategy.
