Are ECC-based workflows causing bottlenecks in your S/4HANA migration journey? You're not without a solution.
Introducing the ECC Connector for Task Center, delivered in partnership with MHP, a valuable enabler for customers navigating hybrid SAP landscapes. Whether you're mid-migration or working in a dual-system environment, this connector helps integrate your classic ECC tasks directly into the modern SAP Task Center experience on BTP.
The ECC Connector is a purpose-built solution designed to seamlessly pull tasks from ECC systems into SAP Task Center—your central inbox for all workflow items across SAP and third-party systems.
Built on SAP BTP CAP architecture and deployed directly into your SAP and BTP infrastructure, the connector supports:
Pulling ECC-based approval tasks
Operating through My Inbox actions (including bulk operations)
Detailed task data including attachments and notifications
Backend extensibility for customer-specific enhancements
As part of the implementation, MHP provides:
BTP CAP API Interface deployed on your SAP BTP instance
Backend Interface in the MHP namespace for ECC/SAP on-premise systems
Full implementation support
Tailored adjustments to your business requirements
Your organization qualifies if:
You have a BTP subaccount with Task Center and Backend Connectivity enabled (via Cloud Connector & Principal Propagation)
You're running My Inbox on ECC for existing approval processes
Your SAP system meets minimum version: SAP_BASIS, SAP_ABA, SAP_GWFND ≥ 750
Current Capabilities Include:
Pulling tasks from ECC backend
Support for My Inbox actions (approve/reject)
Attachments, details, and multi-backend support
Easy display integration for My Inbox detail views
What's Next:
Adjustments based on early customer feedback
Enhanced support for multiple backend systems, clients, and 3rd party SaaS
Full SaaS readiness with 24/7 support, SAP Store listing, and standard rollout models
During your migration to S/4HANA, it's not uncommon to maintain hybrid landscapes where legacy ECC processes coexist with modern SAP BTP components. Instead of re-building workflows or forcing users into multiple inboxes, the ECC Connector provides a unified user experience, reduces disruption, and supports a smoother transition.
