SAP Joule for Consultants: Listening, Learning, and Delivering

What if it was possible to cut down the time and effort required to implement a large scale digital transformation project without sacrificing quality? In theory, this would mean customers would see the value of their cloud investments materialize much faster than they are today.

That was the bet SAP made when it launched one of its premier Business AI innovations back in December 2024, SAP Joule for Consultants (J4C).  It is a generative AI copilot designed to transform how SAP consultants and partners implement SAP solutions and accelerate cloud transformations. It was born out of a vision where if we could harness the power of generative AI and combine it with SAP's comprehensive knowledge base and business data, we could create a ground-breaking tool that helps millions of SAP consultants augment their productivity, avoid time-consuming searches, and make better-informed decisions at every step of the transformation.

SAP Joule for Consultants is purpose-built as an AI copilot that can deliver concise answers, explain custom code, and provide expert-level best practice guidance. Grounded in SAP's proprietary knowledge base, consultants can rely on the information to be reliable, responsible, and relevant.

Since its General Availability (GA) launch in Q2 2025, product adoption has grown substantially and customers worldwide are beginning to utilize J4C across the various different phases of complex SAP implementation projects.

But GA was only the beginning. The product team has been listening carefully to the feedback from our early adopters, consultants in the field, and our broader SAP Community. The input so far has been incredibly valuable and is helping shape our future roadmap. A consistent theme we have heard is the need to keep enhancing both the Content available in J4C and the overall User Experience. These insights led us narrow our focus on tangible product improvements and has fundamentally guided the August and September product releases.

🔍Prompt Guide with Examples

The new Prompt Guide with Examples helps consultants ask better questions. By clicking Show Prompt Guide above the conversation window, users can see best practices and sample prompts making it easier to frame queries and get better results.

📚Prompt Library

Easily browse a collection of pre-formulated prompts tailored to common roles and areas within SAP. Use filters to find prompts by Role (e.g., Technology Consultant, Project Manager) or Area (e.g., Security Best Practices, ABAP Development).

Each prompt includes:

• The actual prompt
• A less effective alternative prompt
• Prompt objective
• Prompt description

To use a prompt, simply copy it from the library and paste it into the Joule Conversation box. This feature is accessible via a link in the Quick Prompt Guide.

📋Copy Answer to Clipboard

Users can now quickly copy the entire contents of a generated answer box by clicking the Copy to Clipboard button. This makes it easy to share responses for use in other applications or purposes.

When you are in the middle of a project, every click matters. Consultants told us that while the Prompt Guide was useful, it was too narrow in scope. They wanted a single-entry point where they could jump to whatever they needed most. That’s why we transformed the old “Show Prompt Guide” button into Quick Links, a central hub designed for speed. With one click, consultants can:

• Access the Prompt Guide for quick how-to examples.
• Open the Prompt Library for curated best practices.
• Check What’s New to stay current with the latest updates.
• Launch the Console to configure and monitor usage.

🖥️ Control and Clarity with the Console

SAP Joule for Consultants Console Overview: The new Console brings visibility and control into one place with tailored capabilities for each role (User and Admin).

For All Users: An effortless way to stay on top of what’s new with each release and the Prompt Library to browse and access curated prompts directly from the console.

For Administrators: Admins can use the Console to gain tenant-level insights with Usage Metrics, for tracking adoption and engagement across users, and adjust organizational preferences through Settings, such as starter messages to customize the experience for end users.

 

Content Enhancements:

📚KBA and SAP Notes	Access made simple: Entitlement-based access for end-users. Flexible control: Admins decide who gets access by assigning s-users. No extra steps: End-users don’t need to act.
🔒Private Content	The SAP Simplification List is a release-specific guide that outlines changes in SAP S/4HANA, detailing which legacy features are removed or replaced and what new solutions take their place. It helps customers and partners understand system impacts, plan conversions, and adopt S/4HANA innovations smoothly. SAP Implementation Guide (IMG) is a structured guide that provides documentation and activities for adapting standard SAP functions. Users navigate through a hierarchical structure to select and implement desired configurations, ensuring the system functions correctly for their organization.
