SAP Cloud ALM, our cloud-native solution designed to support the entire lifecycle of SAP applications, has now provisioned its 10,000th customer tenant to our valued customers. Since its release with just 10 beta customers on May 29th, 2020, SAP Cloud ALM has demonstrated extraordinary growth, more than doubling its customer base each year. Growing from 250+ customers at the end of 2020 to an impressive 8,000+ last year, we now proudly celebrate the 10,000th customer tenant. This milestone highlights our customers’ demand for an effective and efficient cloud-based application lifecycle management solution that can be used with confidence to get the maximum benefit from their SAP solutions. 

As we celebrate this milestone, our journey with SAP Cloud ALM is far from over. While we have made significant progress, the growing user base provides SAP with a wealth of feedback and insights to continuously improve SAP Cloud ALM’s features and services to better meet our customers’ needs. Based on customer demand, we focused our efforts in three critical areas: 

First, we recognized the importance of seamless integration with other widely used solutions through open APIs for external products like Jira, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, Grafana, and others. This approach allowed SAP Cloud ALM to become an integral part of the integrated toolchain for the SAP Business Suite, providing the capability of Business Transformation with end-to-end visibility and management for implementing, deploying, operating, and continuously improving SAP solutions to reach a Clean Core. SAP Cloud ALM is now interconnected in a logical way with SAP Signavio, SAP LeanIX, SAP EnableNow, and Tricentis test tools to take advantage of each platform’s strengths and optimize the implementation of new solutions. Second, we are committed to enhancing SAP Cloud ALM’s monitoring capabilities for SAP BTP extensions. By continuously improving these features, we enable our customers to maintain a Clean Core strategy while gaining valuable insights into their solutions’ performance and health. For example, Panasonic has benefitted from SAP Cloud ALM’s ability to integrate local and central observability, ..., and have presented their success story of how they use SAP Cloud ALM to monitor custom-built applications built on BTP Cloud Foundry. Over the next months, we will expand on this success by introducing AI into SAP Cloud ALM: The first use cases are already productively used by our SAP Cloud ALM customers, driving us towards our North Star of Autonomous Application Lifecycle Management. For example, Swisskrono Group is already taking advantage of AI for alert processing as seen in this presentation and video.

Third, we refined our guidance and support for customers transitioning from SAP Solution Manager to SAP Cloud ALM. The Readiness Check for SAP Cloud ALM, Transition Center, and methodology roadmap is just the beginning; we will continue to develop resources and refine our best practices to make the transition process as smooth and efficient as possible. Lastly, we have increased SAP Cloud ALM development transparency to our customers by publishing a detailed roadmap of planned SAP Cloud ALM innovations on the Road Map Explorer, covering topics such as change and deployment management, test management, document management and solution operations.  

SAP Cloud ALM will continue to improve and evolve; it's a dynamic process where each customer story contributes to shaping a more robust and versatile platform. As we look to the future, our focus will remain on fostering seamless integrations, enhancing user experience, and providing comprehensive support that empowers our customers to thrive in a rapidly changing digital landscape.
