SAP Cloud ALM is a comprehensive application lifecycle management tool. It helps you to implement and operate intelligent cloud and hybrid business solutions. You benefit from an out-of-the-box, native cloud solution, designed as the central entry point to manage your SAP landscape with content-driven guided implementation and highly automated operations. SAP Cloud ALM is included in your cloud subscription containing Enterprise Support, cloud edition and in SAP Enterprise Support.
SAP Enable Now is SAP’s digital adoption platform (DAP) and a dynamic solution geared towards optimizing employee potential and productivity, with capabilities like rapidly creating and deploying documentation, eLearning and tutorials for efficient formal learning and onboarding, even before users start interacting with the system. The solution facilitates quick and efficient production of diverse enablement materials, providing a comprehensive platform for equipping the entire workforce with the knowledge and skills they need. It does not only cater to formal training, but it also allows for in-app help by delivering context-driven content live and embedded directly within the application, providing a seamless user experience and consistent communication channel.
The integration between the tools will evolve over time. In the first release the following functionalities and proposed process is available.
Connect SAP Enable Now work area with SAP Cloud ALM project. Each work area relates to one scope in SAP Cloud ALM. An overview of these steps can be found in this tutorial in the SAP Enable Now Infocenter: SAP Cloud ALM Integration.
The project scope from SAP Cloud ALM has been transferred to SAP Enable Now. Currently, it is not yet possible to transfer the hierarchy from SAP Cloud ALM, so the content has been transferred into a tree structure in SAP Enable Now. The SAP Solution Scenarios are used as a structure for the processes.
Sample structure:
Project (e.g. Enable Now Demo Project)
Scope (e.g. Plant Frankfurt)
Solution Scenario (e.g. SAP Best Practices for SAP S/4HANA Cloud)
Process (e.g. Accounting and Financial Close (J58))
Once this is done, the content is shown in SAP Enable Now:
To begin creating learning content, the documentation generated in the SAP Cloud ALM project can be transferred to SAP Enable Now. This transfer is initiated by clicking the "synchronize" button in the menu within SAP Enable Now.
The documents linked to the process in SAP Cloud ALM are now accessible in SAP Enable Now's "documents" folder.
Now, learning content can be developed in SAP Enable Now using the processes and documentation from SAP Cloud ALM. The ownership of the individual documents resides in the respective tool, meaning that documents created in SAP Cloud ALM can be transferred and updated, but not changed in SAP Enable Now. Learning content coming from SAP Enable Now into SAP Cloud ALM can only be changed in SAP Enable Now. The learning content is managed in the SAP Enable Now file storage but references the process structure.
The last step is to transfer the learning content back to SAP Cloud ALM. This step is triggered in SAP Enable Now by selecting "synchronize" and "send changes". In SAP Cloud ALM, the learning content is shown as documents assigned to the process, including reference URLs to the various learning assets developed in SAP Enable Now. All documents can then be accessed in SAP Cloud ALM.
From SAP Cloud ALM all documents can then be accessed. Further changes to the learning content and project and solution documentation can be synced if required. Additionally, if learning content is removed, these changes can be sent to SAP Cloud ALM.
For this integration the standard SAP Cloud ALM Documents API is used by SAP Enable Now. For more information, please visit: https://api.sap.com/api/CALM_SD/overview
What’s in for our customers: Early content adoption before product rollout with ability to distribute content in different channels and in context of a process / user definition.
Enabling customers to customize and add material to each process where required – by themselves or via partners - before they implement a SAP product, directly with starting their implementation project in Cloud ALM.
Overall, the process allows for the creation, organization, and availability of learning content from SAP Enable Now within the SAP Cloud ALM environment, providing users with a seamless experience in managing their documentation and learning materials.
