Application Development Innovations on SAP BTP

New Experience for Managing Content Transports

Have you ever wished you could easily see all the content available across your subaccounts on SAP Business Technology Platform? Or find a way to reduce manual, individual content transports?

In comes SAP Content Agent service, which solves these problems and more! SAP Content Agent is a framework to manage different types of content on SAP BTP. It provides transparency on all your content, the possibility to check for inter-dependencies and a way to combine packages for multiple transports to avoid manual transport errors.

We recently released a new User Interface that simplifies the experience even more. You can export, import, and transport your content (including dependencies and related content) between subaccounts as an MTA download or by using the SAP Cloud Transport Management service.

Support event-driven ABAP application development

In a rapidly changing business environment, customers need to respond to emerging events in real time. By using Enterprise Event Enablement, you can develop event-driven applications and be ready for change.

With the latest release, you can use the ABAP-Platform tools to define and raise your own business event types in your application. We have a native integration for business events in the RAP programming model, supporting all RAP qualities like extensibility and testability.

You can also generate ready-to-use event consumption models using the event consumer wizard embedded in ABAP Development Tools for Eclipse.

Business events can be facilitated in all ABAP-Platform-based products, like SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP BTP, ABAP environment and SAP S/4HANA on-prem. Both the event provider and the event consumer are connected via a message broker: SAP Event Mesh on SAP Business Technology Platform.

Enhanced Multi-tenancy support with CAP

To everyone interested in building extendable, multitenant applications on SAP Business Technology Platform – this update is for YOU!

With the latest major release of the SAP Cloud Application Programing (CAP) model, we introduced the streamlined multitenancy and extensibility (MTX) library. The new package provides a modular set of standard CAP services, which implement multitenancy, feature toggles, and extensibility.

The benefits of this new library include:

1. Test-drive your project locally and save the costs of an SAP HANA Cloud early in your project.


2. Enable MTX services only when required, according to our “Grow-as-you-go" paradigm and stay flexible during design time.


3. Benefit from all the flexibility CAP provides, such as customizing service definitions using CDS aspects, adding custom event handlers, and more.
