Following our earlier announcements on migrating structured allocations to Data Actions (initial blog, update blog), we are now completing the last steps of this transition.

Over the past months, legacy allocation features have been gradually phased out. Initially, we disabled the creation of new legacy allocations, followed by prohibiting edits to existing ones and finally ceasing their execution entirely.

After providing a six-month transition period to facilitate the adaptation of your planning processes, the forthcoming QRC2 2025 update will finalize the retirement of legacy allocations from the SAC application.

Update – May 6, 2025
To give you more time to complete the final steps in discontinuing the legacy allocations capabilities, we’ve shifted the final milestone to from QRC2 2025 to QRC3 2025.

As we enter this final stage, please note the following:

  • Legacy allocation steps and processes, as well as all references to these, will become completely inaccessible via the user interface. (moved to QRC3 2025)
  • Exporting legacy allocations from your systems will no longer be possible. Any legacy allocations included in previously exported packages will be ignored upon import.
  • Old data action allocation steps, that embed legacy allocation steps, will be automatically migrated to the new allocation configuration in the data action designer on system upgrade. The migration will apply also upon importing packages that contain such steps. (moved to QRC3 2025)

Your Next Steps

We assure you that no data or legacy allocations will be deleted at this point in time. All legacy allocations will remain securely stored as a backup but no longer accessible through the user interface.

To ensure uninterrupted business continuity, we strongly recommend that you:

  • Verify and adapt your planning processes immediately.
  • Manually migrate any remaining legacy allocation steps and processes to Data Actions as soon as possible.

We appreciate your continued cooperation and proactive engagement during this transition process. Please stay tuned for more updates as we enhance your experience with SAP Analytics Cloud!
