Redis on SAP BTP - Understanding service entitlements and metrics

For deploying and using the Redis on SAP BTP service you need to have the proper entitlements in you Global Account regarding ‘Premium’ or ‘Standard’ service plans. Each instance of Redis will consume always blocks of memory.

Below the 2 available service plans and the corresponding memory metrics:

Redis on SAP BTP service can be found on the SAP BTP Discovery Center and is available via BTP-EA commercial model on AWS,AZURE and GCP, via Subscription for AliCloud.

The service provides also a 'Free" service plan for Redis cache service for non-productive and development usage, you can use it as a 'try-before-buy' option.

Please be aware of the below important remarks:

• The minimum of number of memory blocks (aka SKU units) can differ across infrastructure regions, because of the differences in the Redis service offered by the underlying infrastructure provider.
• The memory size configuration is linked to the Redis instance type (class) that will delivered a minimum number of Cache Nodes per shard may apply depending on the hyperscaler options.
• In case of multi-AZ configurations, the double of memory blocks need to be considered.
• The service usage is shown in the BTP Cockpit Usage Analytics view at global account and sub-account levels.
