Last week, we announced the general availability of the AI agent hub in SAP LeanIX. All existing customers can start discovering their agents from Microsoft, Google, and SAP immediately, or begin sending agent cards via the API. Detailed documentation can be found here

Below you find a recap of the most frequently asked questions. In case you missed the session, you can rewatch it here

  1. What is the AI agent hub all about?
AI agent discovery is available now to all SAP LeanIX customers as part of the standard APM solution. For enterprise architects responsible for application landscapes, integrations, and governance, this capability provides a centralized, discoverable inventory of AI agents across cloud platforms and custom sources.
  2. When is it available?
Availability: The feature is live and included in the standard APM module for SAP LeanIX customers.
Documentation: Detailed setup and connector guidance is published on the SAP Help Portal | SAP Online Help. Read the documentation first for step-by-step configuration and supported connector behavior.
  3. How AI agents are discovered?
LeanIX integrates natively with platform connectors. The Microsoft connector surfaces agents built on Microsoft cloud services (Azure AI Foundry, Copilot). The Google integration follows the same model with a current focus on agents configured on Google Agent Engine. The SAP integration captures used preconfigured Joule agents.
If your agents are not built on Microsoft, Google, or SAP, you can still send them to LeanIX by sending agent metadata via the AI Agent API.
  4. What is the focus of the AI agent hub?
LeanIX is a discovery and governance layer. It does not execute or orchestrate agents; it provides visibility and governance controls rather than runtime management.
  5. How are agents modelled in SAP LeanIX?
AI Agents are modeled as a subtype of the Application Fact Sheet. This design supports joint application landscapes, incl. agents and data flows, while enabling agent-specific typing and conditional fields for clarity in the UI.
  6. How do you calculate an agent's business value?
LeanIX provides a built-in, documented calculation to estimate the business impact of custom agents. This calculation is adaptable to your organization’s criteria and needs.
  7. What are the SAP solution suggestions all about?
With the SAP solution suggestions you get a curated view in the context of your application landscape on which SAP AI agents and applications you are not yet using while having the technical set up in place.
  8. What is the commercial impact of the AI agent hub?
AI Agents are commercially relevant and treated as an Application subtype; they are licensed as discounted applications at a 1:5 ratio (apps : agents). The overall licensing approach remains application-based.
  9. What's next?
We focus on building integrations with major agent building platforms and discovering MCP servers to enable more comprehensive modeling of how agents, applications, and MCP servers are connected in your application landscape.
