Introduction

This document reflects the status of the Table Build Experience in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) as of Q3 2025.

It aims to guide story designers and stakeholders during the transition to the new experience and to provide visibility into its planned evolution.

Please note that some features and restrictions are temporary and subject to change as SAP continues to enhance SAC in upcoming releases.

The New Table Build Experience

With the Q3 2025 release, SAP Analytics Cloud introduces the new Table Build Experience for the Optimized Design Mode.

This redesign marks a major step forward in how tables are created, configured, and consumed in SAC.

The new experience offers a more intuitive workflow for story designers, aligning closely with the Chart Builder, while also laying the foundation for future innovations.

All new capabilities and innovations introduced with this experience are detailed in the following SAP Community article:

In short, the new Table Build Experience is not just a cosmetic update. It represents a strategic foundation for SAC.

Existing Unsupported Features and Restrictions

As with any major redesign, the initial release does not yet offer full feature parity with the legacy table, which is why the new Table Build Experience is currently available through an Opt-In option.

While the core capabilities are already in place, some features are still under development.

The complete and up-to-date list of unsupported features and restrictions (as of QRC3 2025) is available in the official documentation:

These limitations are important to keep in mind, especially when switching to the New Table Build Experience.

However, they should be viewed in context: these limitations are temporary by nature and will progressively be removed.

Product Direction for the New Table Build Experience

Many of the current gaps are expected to be closed in the near future, with several already addressed as SAC continues to harmonize and extend its table capabilities.

The following roadmap illustrates what and when SAP plans to lift the current restrictions and achieve full feature parity.
