Keeping your planning environment healthy just got easier. In the QRC3 2025 release, SAP Analytics Cloud introduces Data Change Log Notifications — a new feature that gives you heads-up into the size of your data change logs before they become a problem.
You can now configure alerts to notify you when a data change log reaches a specific size threshold. This is especially useful for large, collaborative planning environments where continuous planning operations and publishing can lead to data change log growing quickly.
With these alerts in place, you gain:
Administrators or users with the right permissions can configure data change log alerts by going to:
System > Administration > Notifications > Data Change Log Notifications
From here, you can:
Tip: To avoid spamming users, it's recommended to set the threshold to at least 60%. By default, it's set to 80%.
Users with Delete permission for the Data Change Log object type or those explicitly added to the custom recipient list can manage their personal email preferences via:
Profile Settings > User Preferences > Data Change Log Notifications
From there, they can choose to enable or disable email alerts as needed.
When the data change log of any model reaches the threshold that has been defined, notifications are automatically triggered.
When you receive the notification, it’s recommended to reduce the log size as soon as possible to avoid the potential disruptions when publishing data. You can do this by navigating to Data Change Log, where you can filter and delete the log records easily using the flexible filtering options. If you would like to keep a backup before deleting, simply export the log records first.
With this new notification capability, you can monitor the health of your data change log more effectively and keep things running smoothly.
