Great news! Starting April 17, we're integrating Analytics into the SAP BTP Cockpit to make your experience even better. But to do this, we first need the OK from you.

By giving us your consent, you’ll let our product teams gather anonymous product usage analytics data about how you interact with the BTP Cockpit. The data includes information such as the frequency of page visits, usage of features like buttons and links, time spent on each page, and the navigation paths users follow within the BTP Cockpit. Be assured that we won't collect any personal information – only the information we need to uncover where you're encountering challenges or spending extra time.

Your usage data is powerful. It helps our product teams make informed decisions and enhance the functionality and interfaces of BTP Cockpit. In short, it helps us to deliver a more satisfying experience for you.

How it Works

Analytics operates with a focus on user consent and anonymity. No data will be collected unless you give consent.

1. Customer consent by administrators: Consent is needed from a global account administrator for all users of a global account. For each global account, an administrator can choose whether to allow their users to participate in sending usage data.

The dialog to enable analytics is only visible to users with the global account administrator role and if consent has not already been granted for the current global account by another administrator.

The consent can be changed any time in the global account settings by the administrators.

2. User consent: In addition to the global account administrator, each individual user also must decide. Each user will see the cookie banner below, and by accepting all cookies, they opt into analytics. Usage data will only be sent if global account administrator and user consent are provided.

Users can change their consent at any time in the Cookie Preferences setting.

3. Data analysis: Product teams at BTP gain access to aggregated information, including most visited pages, time spent per page, and exit rates. These insights support the identification of issues and prioritization of platform improvements.

Data Security and Privacy

We understand the importance of data security and privacy, and have taken robust measures to safeguard your information:

No monetizing or advertising: Your data will never be used for monetizing or advertising purposes.

Full control: Global account administrators and individual users retain complete control over the activation of usage analytics. If you decide not to participate, your user experience will remain unchanged, and no anonymized data will be collected.

Anonymized data: All data collected is anonymized and stripped of personal or company-identifying information, ensuring privacy for all users.

Exclusion of application data: We do not collect any data related to your applications, including inputs you've made.

Summary

By enabling analytics, you contribute to a cycle of improvements that will benefit not only your own user experience but that of the entire SAP community. We are excited to bring this advancement to the SAP BTP Cockpit and look forward to making further enhancements based on invaluable user insights.
