Introduction
Innovation Recommendations help your organization plan long-term strategic improvement using SAP solutions and applications that can get you started with your process transformation journey. They can help you improve your business processes in your source system.
Overview
You can access Innovation Recommendations from different entry points in SAP Signavio Process Insights, discovery edition. The following overview shows all Innovation Recommendation at a glance. In addition, there are options to filter the data that let you focus on specific areas within End-to-End Processes and Modular Processes, providing a detailed approach (access it from the row highlighted in red).
As a short note, you can always download the list of recommendations.
Let’s assume you are interested to see the Innovation Recommendations in the End-to-End process “Lead to Cash” specifically “Manage Customers and Channels”. The system will then provide all related Innovation Recommendation (shown below).
New – Blockers are now linked to Innovation Recommendations
Recently, an update was made to highlight the blockers related to a specific recommendation.
You can click on each number in this column to review the list of blockers that will be positively impacted by the implementation of the recommended innovation.
You can click on each blocker listed to access to its details. You can (re)read this blog in case you need a refresher.
Access the details by applying Filtering Capabilities
The filtering capabilities enable you to further refine your focus on different categories of Innovation Recommendations. If you need to determine which Innovation Recommendations are essential for your SAP S/4HANA transformation, you can easily select the relevant category to view the results (see the screenshot). Additionally, if you are interested in enhancing User Experience through SAP Fiori, you can filter by that category to access specific recommendations tailored to improving interface design and user interactions.
These robust filtering options allow you to streamline your search and efficiently target the Innovation Recommendations that align with your strategic goals. (Stay tuned for detailed analysis of SAP S/4HANA capabilities– More to come in Blog 8).
Relevance based on Usage
The relevance rating of a recommendation is determined by the usage of the related transactions within your SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA system.
The relevance rating enables you to identify which innovation recommendations are most relevant to your organization, helping you to prioritize your transformation investments effectively. Focus on the innovations, which have the highest number of blue squares (3 maximum).

Industry Popularity
Industry Popularity is a special indicator because it represents how popular an innovation Recommendation is among your industry peers.
In this example -screenshot below-, “Periodic Billing Processes” is not so relevant for this company. However, industry popularity provides insight into the level of adoption of a recommendation, indicating how many industry peers are using it. With this information available, you can consider implementing this recommendation to stay aligned with industry trends.
Another example describes the industry popularity filtered by User Experience (SAP Fiori). As you can see this sample company has no usage of “Create optimal orders for shipment” at all, however, it is widely adopted among industry peers.
AI Scenarios, Machine Learning, and Situation Handling
AI scenarios, Machine Learning, and Situation Handling are integral components of modern business processes, and SAP Signavio Process Insights, discovery edition provides filtering capabilities to harness these technologies effectively. Together, these technologies empower organizations to optimize processes, improve decision-making, and stay competitive in a rapidly evolving market.
Select Intelligent Technologies and you can further fine tune your selection in the “Type” column, when you can further filter the data.
