As the digital core element of the Intelligent Enterprise, SAP S/4HANA is an integrated ERP system running on SAP HANA, available in the cloud and On-premise.
APIs and Business events are at the core of the SAP strategy to enable easy consumption and automation on top of SAP S/4HANA. In the last few years, we have invested heavily into an API First development strategy to provide more access to SAP S/4HANA Cloud and for third-party integrations through modern http-based APIs.
Customer success in the Intelligent Enterprise highly depends on our customer’s and partner’s ability to integrate and extend SAP S/4HANA based on modern technologies and open industry standards. As part of this effort, today we are delighted to announce the release of SAP S/4HANA On-premise APIs on SAP API Business Hub. Within the SAP S/4HANA 2020 API Strategy project, we were able to publish 290 modern HTTP-based APIs (150 OData and 140 SOAP APIs) including 178 Business Events. This increases the API coverage of the core business objects for SAP S/4HANA On-premise 2020 release. SAP S/4HANA is publishing APIs and Business Events which enables customers to build integration with third-party solutions and to build Apps and extensions on SAP Cloud Platform.
