1. Test Case Creation

Step 1: Open the Test Steps Designer Application

Step 2: Create a New Test Case

  • In the Test Steps Designer, click on "Create".
  • Provide the Test Case Name and select a folder where the case will be stored.
  • Add basic details for your test case (e.g., steps, description, instructions, and expected results for each step).
  • You can also add a team or additional test steps if necessary.

Step 3: Upload Test Steps via CSV (Option 2)

  • Download a sample CSV template from the Test Steps Designer.
  • Fill in the test data in the template.
  • Save the file in .csv format and then upload it via the Test Steps Designer.

2. Adding Test Result Attributes

Step 4: Configure Test Result Attributes

  • Navigate to:
    SPRO -> SAP Solution Manager -> Focused Build -> Test Suite Extensions -> Test Steps -> Customer Fields for Test Steps Result Attributes
  • You can add Test Result Attributes below each test step. Select the appropriate attribute for each step or case.

3. Assigning Test Case to Solution Documentation

Step 5: Manually Assign Test Case to Solution Documentation (Option 1)

  • Navigate to the solution documentation.
  • Search for the Orphan Test Case, and click OK to assign it.
  • The test case will now be available in the scenario.

Step 6: Automatic Assignment (Option 2)

  • Click on an existing test case in the folder where you want to assign other test cases automatically.
  • Download the existing test case and extract the SolDoc Path Occ ID.
  • Use this ID in the SolDoc Path Occ ID cell in the Excel template for future test case uploads to automate the process.

4. Test Plan and Sequence Creation

Step 7: Create Test Plans and Sequences

  • After test case creation, proceed to create the Test Plan and Test Sequence for structured execution of tests.

5. Tester Assignment

Step 8: Assign Testers

  • Assign testers to the test cases and packages created, ensuring proper execution responsibility is designated.
