Overview

The idea of AI capabilities integrated with SAP Master Data Governance is exciting with AI assisted features already delivered by SAP. The possibilities are endless and it is beautifully explained in the blog post by @Mark63 Thoughts About Generative AI in Master Data Governance. One of my key takeaway from the blog post is "the journey of AI integration in SAP Master Data Governance processes has only just begun." 
Simply put, we are in this journey as pioneers & explorers to improve global business processes; one solution at a time.

This got me into thinking and developing a simple use case of "Comprehensive summary of Master Data with key insights using GenAI" for central governance. The driving factor behind the idea was a simple "What if?" Let's dive a little deeper now.

Driving Factor

"What if there existed a unified platform to obtain a thorough overview of master data, featuring essential insights on transactional activities and data quality?" The motivation is to allow users to have an high level overview of master data with a single click of a button.

Solution

AI Summarization of the Master Data elements with a simple button on the SAP MDG Central Governance search screen. 

High Level Architecture

This architecture showcases how AI capabilities can be seamlessly incorporated into SAP MDG processes, enabling automated insights and enhanced decision-making for master data management.

Considerations

Data Protection: The solution was developed in a sandbox system utilizing dummy data.
LLM's data protection and guidelines should be considered in building solutions around GenAI that includes Data Minimization, Data Isolation and access control.

Conclusion
