Hi Nico,
on SFM capabilities, i have few questions
1) Can SFM calculate scope 1 and scope 2 emissions at corporate level ? With out product association can SFM calculate scope 1 emissions for company owned vehicles?
2) Can SFM be used for Telecom Service provider companies
3) In your blog you mentioned, integration to SAP Environment management is planned for total GHG emissions. What is that SFM is not covering which SAP EHS EM is covering?
4) Does SFM covers CH4 and N2O calculations for total GHG emissions
Thanks in advance !

Ganesh

Hi Ganseh,
thanks for reaching out. Adding to Michael's answer:
1) Yes SFM can calculate that Scope 1 & 2 emissions, based on energy flow models and information from energy providers. Transport emissions can be calculated for Scope 1, 3.4 and 3.9, product association is not required.
2) Yes, there is no restriction/ industry focus.
3) EHS Environment Management is broader should be used for managing all GHG and other air emission inventories to fulfill legal regulatory and permit compliance.
4) SFM calculates CO2-equivalents, therefore including CH4 and N2O. However, there is currently no breakdown into the particular GHGs.
Hope that helps!
Best, Nico

Ganesh
there are some capabilities within SFM to handle CO2e emission results for corporate emissions. For CH4/N2O and actual GHG gas emission inventories, consider SAP EHS Environment Management.

Hello,
One other thing I learned going through the SFM Help Portal documentation is, it has a feature called Emissions without allocation to a product (which I assume would be corporate emissions), which uses Allocation schemes and Allocation rules in which we can decide percentage of such emissions on a product using the fixed factor. But currently, this are marked as Manual Emissions and are required to be entered manually but expectation would be to bring that integration between EHS - EM and SFM to bring these values directly. So such emissions are still required to be calculated using the EHS - EM and be brought to SFM. So basically SFM is complimented by EHS-EM.
Thanks.
