Hello,
if I get it right, SAP PFM (and maybe together with SAP SCT) is kind of a successor of SAP PCFA and SAP PCFA won't be developed any further, correct?
For those who started the Carbon Footprint-journey with PCFA, do you provide a transformation path to SAP PFM or do they have to set up the PFM from scratch?
Thanks and kind regards
Olaf

Hi, is the PFM solution not mainly based in SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform), while PCFA was/is mainly based in SAC (SAP Analytics Cloud)?

Hi Roland, yes that's right, but the reporting functionality seems to be quite similar. And as SAC is also a part of BTP, it's unclear to me, which parts of the BTP-technologies are being used for PFM-implementation.

Olaf's question points into good direction: Technical guidance. I was thinking these days how to enable our technical consultants regarding PFM, i.e. technology, architecture, and - very important - standard programming plug-ins, where the project developers and still interfere with additional coding.
Is there already a kind of technical guidance paper for technical consultants?
Greetings

Hi Bernd,
it seems, SAP is adding descriptions day by day, e.g.:
SAP Product Footprint Management - SAP Help Portal
Kind regards

And, Bernd, maybe you can get / give an answer to the main question of this post, whether SAP PFM will be replacing SAP PCFA? Thanks

Sure, and sorry for omitting that: Yes, PCFA will be replaced by the new PFM solution.

Dear Olaf,
SAP is not currently investing in the development of the PCFA analytical content, which is available free of charge for SAP Analytics Cloud. Going forward, SAP Product Footprint Management will be the solution for calculating environmental footprints at scale. The scope of this solution will be much bigger than the analytics content offered with PCFA: SAP Product Footprint Management allows for a more standardized calculation of footprints, automated extraction of SAP S/4HANA business process data, importing and mapping emissions data from LCIA databases, auditability, the integration of calculated footprints back into SAP S/4HANA processes and much more.
SAP Product Footprint Management is a cloud app built on the SAP Business Technology Platform and integrates with SAP S/4HANA via a specialized API.
Kind regards
Björn

Dear Björn,
Are BTP (Business Technology Platform) and PFM (Product Footprint Management) only available as cloud solutions?
Can they connect with S/4Hana 2020 SPS03 on Premise?
Best regards,
Dirk-Jan Schenk
