The Co-Innovation Lab EMEA North launched in early 2022 a Sprint1 program focusing on Sustainability  – called Hack4Green – with a pilot in France then a roll out in the rest of the EMEA North region. As we explained our plan to the USF (French SAP Users Group) they got immediately positive about it and quickly decided to join us.

Hack4Green Demojam @Levallois-Perret

In March 2022, SAP French partners were invited along a kickoff to provide a use case related to the SAP portfolio’s green solutions. Many use cases were received with a diverse range of maturity, including products like IBP, SAC or PFM (Product Footprint Management) for example.

The Hack4Green team made of SAP France Experience Center, Green Line, USF and COIL members carefully reviewed and selected 10 partners finalists to join the Sprint1 journey: STMS, Teamwork, NTT Data, BAW, APPLIUM, PwC, delaware, WYNSYS, CGI and Sopra Steria.

As a result, partners were offered the chance to be coached and supported by the Hack4Green team for 4 months in several individual and combined workshops across multiple phases.

The first phase was the Use case Elaboration. Then followed 5 days of Intensive Prototyping, where partner built a first version of their future solution under SAP guidance and demoed it on the last day at a "half-time" individual demo. Before the summer season participants received detailed individual feedback then used the July-August timeframe to validate and fine tune their prototype, not mentioning their pitch.

On September 16th all 10 partners were invited at SAP France Experience Center in Paris to demo their solution on stage to SAP Ecosystem stakeholders including Emmanuelle Brun (SAP France CFO) and members of the USF (Bouygues Construction, Perrigo, Gendarmerie Nationale and Electricité De France)

All the partners were able to give a live demonstration of their impressive achievements. Four partners solutions got the special attention of a panel of executives and experts during the demo jam: STMS, APPLIUM, PwC, delaware.

COIL, USF and the four partners will now get the chance to jointly present the Hack4Green program and the 4 awesome solutions on first day (11:35) of the USF annual convention on main stage (October 5-6th) in Lyon/France in front of 1700 customers.

Many thanks to all contributing parties: the partners, USF and SAP France including the ones we did not explicitly mention above like the French Partner Management team, the SAP-USF liaison team, the SAP Labs Paris team and a few others.

Looking back, as we initially discussed with USF a potential contribution of their members, we tried to keep the expectations reasonable to manage their busy schedule. In the praxis we were impressed by the level of dedication they showed us, their enthusiasm and passion, and the time and effort they committed far beyond what we were asking. Chapeau!

Next step is the roll out of the Sprint1 Hack4Green program in the rest of the EMEA North region. Discussions are ongoing and at an advanced stage with some countries. Stay tune.
