Sometimes games get a bad rap because they waste time or people become addicted. But there are times when games can teach us, and as a former teacher, this is true for people of all ages. As an avid reader of the Financial Times, I was surprised to see this pop up yesterday, play the climate game.
Playing the game brought to light many personal beliefs about how humanity needs to get moving to deal with climate change. Reading through the dialogues, making the decisions, and seeing how those affected the end score were both interesting and educational. Of course, there are many more factors and actions which would need to be taken, but as something a bit more light-hearted, I would highly recommend taking 10 minutes and going through the game.
If you try it out, leave a comment and if you want to be brave, your score. Personally, the first time I achieved 3 of the 5 awards and the temp rose to 1.57 degrees by 2100.
