Below is one of the questions and an answer related to integrating data from ECC Z tables into IBP using HCI.
Is there an option to create custom(Z) tables inside IBP? If answer is NO, then where would HCI store this data that is extracted from ECC Z tables.
A: Yes, HCI can read the from custom Z tables (via the ABAP layer, no database access needed).
Request clarification before answering.
Hello Praveen
You cannot create custom(Z) tables in IBP. The data extracted from ECC Z-tables should be inserted to the core master data or key figure tables,
The source can be a Z-table in ECC, but target has to be the core tables in IBP.

Hi Praveen,
HCI is not designed to store data. You can use HCI to connect to on premise systems in order to extract and transform data before sending it to IBP's staging tables.
If you are looking for mapping table functionality and creating such a table in ECC would trigger a long approval workflow, then you could read from ECC and have a lookup into a flat file.
