Yard management - Can TU be reused?

Hello all,

TU brought in goods at the door and stock was goods receipted.

Now, I am trying to use the same TU to move the stock out for a sales order.

I tried to move the TU from incoming direction door (used for goods receipt) to outgoing direction door (used for goods issue).

System is giving error -

Loading Direction of Door is not valid.

Is it possible to change direction of TU, currently 1 for inbound) to 2 (for outbound). If yes, what is Tcode?

Regards,

Chaitanya

Hi,

Hm, I have never managed to change the direction of a TU, I do not think that is possible. What Jobi describes above, is not really a solution, because in the moment when you assign a delivery, the direction of the TU is determined through this delivery (and you can not select inbound AND outbound deliveries at the same time).

But you can re-use a TU. You can create a TU with the same number already existing. But in all the tests I did it still means both TU need to be checked in and out. Anyone ever managed to do this differently?

Hello Juergen,

You are right.

I simulated by creating a TU with S&R Acty Direc. as 0 (Direction not defined).

As soon as inbound door was assigned to it, S&R Acty Direc. of the TU changed to inbound and vice a versa.

Now, I tried reusing the same TU for inbound and then inbound.

I could use the same TU for outbound activity only after inbound TU was Departed from the checkpoint.  Not before that.

Is it not possible to change the direction of the TU while it is in the yard?

Chaitanya

Hi,

well, it is not really a solution, I am afraid. All the time I am hoping for someone to come around and show me a way.

Hi Chaitanya,

Once there is an entry in Table /SCWM/TU_SR_ACT,there is no way of removing  it,via either,/SCWM/TU or /SCWM/LOAD or any other standard transaction in EWM I'm afraid.

This is  true up 9.2 ; Not sure about upcoming 9.3 version though.
