Work Manager and Meter (Equipment) status

We are in process of implementing WM. We use ISU with meters status in ECC. We have a dilemma in the to-be:

As-is: Warehouse issues Meters to Truck (sloc) and these remain in ESTO status. The field tech installs the meter and fills out paper with Components, activities and returns paper work order to back office staff.

Office staff will, sequentially, issue meter and components to work order in MIGO (meters convert to AVLB status) and then Install (EG30) meter (INST status) and closes work order IW32

To-be ???

20-30 Meters are in truck in ESTO status at all time and Tech will grab 1 and install. The only way I see that WM can follow SAPs meter status process of ESTO→AVLB→INST will require 2 syncs, once to convert meter to AVLB and then another to install meter ie convert to ESTO. With each sync taking 30-60 secs this is not an option.

You could also have the devices move from ESTO to INST directly. There is an option to enter the goods movement type in the transaction for device install / replace or the Function module. We have executed this functionality previously.

Hi Sarma

You can have the "inventory guys" perform the device status change using special function.

Change equipment->Edit->Special serial no. functions->Manual transaction-> Select the From stock radio button.

This will change the status from ESTO to AVLB. Note this may also change the user status of the device to NOTS(not in stock). You got to change the user status to STCK(Stock).

End result will be device system status = AVLB and device user status = STCK.

Hope this helps.

Unfortunately in our process, the truck is a sloc and the "inventory guys" are doing a stock transfer to the Truck. A stock transfer does not change the status of the meter, its still in ESTO

Hi, Not sure what you want to avoid here.

The meter movement step from Warehouse should be taken care by inventory guys(Goods Issue).
