Why purchasing group is created in material management configuration section instead of org. stru.
As you all know that purchasing group is an organizational unit of the material management and also a floating org. unit, but when we create it we go to material management configuration path section instead of organization structure (definition). The only answer I have thought about is because it has not assignment to any other org. unit. I want to make sure about this. I would appreciate anyone who can clarify this and thank you in advance. your though is right...the Purchasing group is not assigned to any of the org structure as those denotes individual buyers or group of buyers which may be responsible to buy for across all company codes and plants.
