What is the procedure to do a client copy from production to development?

While I'm not new to SAP, I am this role. I need to copy the data in our production environment to our development environment. I don't need to copy all of it but at least 6 months worth. Lastly, is it possible to just export specific cases from production to development?

Hi Ed,

if you need a "fast" solution you would be looking at the client copy functionality (transaction SCCL, SCC9 etc.).

If you need specific data you are basically looking at a data migration (using whatever tool is suitable for your case). But: simply uploading e.g. purchase orders in whatever status will not help you. You need to find out whether you need to load material master data, vendor master data etc.

As far as I understand your request: do a client copy (with all data) or do a migration type "copy" (with selected data)

Hi Gaviria,

This is not a difficult task , fist of all if you want to copy the Production data into your development system you can easily take your data by Export Excel sheet , then save it in you local drive and then if you have any data uploading program you can upload them in your development environment.

In this case you can also take help from your technical team ( ABAPer ) to get the data in report format and also upload the data in Development server.
