What is SAP's recommendation regarding the number of CVCs that a Planner can handle?

Hi,

A client of ours is resizing its DP team. They want to know the number of CVCs a planner should handle. They'll do the recruitment accordingly. What does SAP recommends?

Hi,

It depends on the business process and combinations of characteristics value combinations (CVC).

One of the project business users (demand planner) handled millions of records.

Demand Planning characteristics determine the levels at which demand plans are created, changed, aggregated and disaggregated. Demand Planning master data includes all permissible values of a characteristic, which are called characteristic values. You can only plan data if you have defined such a combination.

Make sure that the following are the key steps to improve the performance and maintenance of CVC's.

• CVC combination (Product, Sales orgnization, Plant, Material, Customer, Region etc..)
• Create CVC options (/SAPAPO/MC62)
• Data source (Planning Object Structure, Info Provider, Excel files)
• Consistency check /SAPAPO/TS_PSTRU_CONS_CHECK
• Delete CVC (CVCs that are no longer valid)
• Adjust time series
• Realignment process
