Hello Experts,
when i tried to open the Material in EWM with Transaction /scwm/mat1, it show the following error.

i had already maintained the Warehouse Management views for this material in SAP ERP. I do not know why this material is not displayed in EWM.

1) What could be the reasons for this error and please suggest your insights to solve this error.
2) Do we have to use Transaction CFM1 and CFM2 to transfer master data from ERP to embedded EWM? or else is the Master data is automatically transfered to Embedded EWM with out using Transaction CFM1 and CFM2. Could you please explain when to use this transcation?

I really appreciate you support,

Thank you,

BR,
Venu

Hi Venu Pappula,

If you create material in ERP, at EWM side it will create at global level not at warehouse level.

if you want, you can check at - /SAPAPO/MAT1 - MAINTAIN PROCUT

-----> select global data radio button and provide material number and press on display. Now you can see product at global level with global information. Now you need to extend this to your warehouse level in EWM.

Now Go to /SCWM/MAT1

Provide product number, whse number, PED and click on create.

Then system will create a product master at whse level with whse data view , slotting view , storage type data view etc.

i hope this will solve your issue.

Thanks & Regards,

Raghuram Rajanala.

Hi,

"i had already maintained the Warehouse Management views for this material in SAP ERP. I do not know why this material is not displayed in EWM."

A warehouse product and the warehouse views are not the same.

"1) What could be the reasons for this error and please suggest your insights to solve this error."

This is no error. For EWM you do not create warehouse views. And if you need to control anything product specific in the warehouse, then you create a warehouse product. (https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_ON-PREMISE/9832125c23154a179bfa1784cdc9577a/4fc7441636fe1b10e10000000a42189d.html).

"2) Do we have to use Transaction CFM1 and CFM2 to transfer master data from ERP to embedded EWM? or else is the Master data is automatically transfered to Embedded EWM with out using Transaction CFM1 and CFM2. Could you please explain when to use this transcation?"

You don't use the CIF for master data in embedded EWM (except for the option to create pack specs from pack instructions, but also there you have other options).

All the above is no official SAP statement.

Want to learn EWM?

Check for EWM courses: https://training.sap.com/trainingpath/Applications-Extended+Warehouse+Management-EWM+in+S4HANA

Get a SAP Learning Hub Subscription: https://training.sap.com/learninghub

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!

And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!

Hi Jürgen,

I am using Embedded EWM, as you said for Embedded EWM we do not require CIF. So the material master data has to be automatically available in the EWM when i use transaction /scwm/mat1.
1) Why the product Master Data is not displayed in EWM with transcation /scwm/mat1 ?
2) If the above message is not error. How can i open the Product master data in the EWM?
3) Do i have to create a new Product master data for each material?
Thank you,

Hi,

"1) Why the product Master Data is not displayed in EWM with transcation /scwm/mat1 ?"

Because the warehouse product is not created on the ERP side.

"2) If the above message is not error. How can i open the Product master data in the EWM?"

With TA /SAPAPO/MAT1. There you can see the product. If you want a warehouse product, you create it separately. Either in /SCWM/MAT1, or in the warehouse management monitor, or through slotting / ABC analysis.

"3) Do i have to create a new Product master data for each material?"

No. You create a warehouse product if you need to control something in the warehouse product specific. Like if you want to use (WANT TO USE does not mean you need to use it) a putaway control indicator or a section indicator. You probably will create warehouse products if you use replenishment.

And there are several questions / blogs about this, so you should probably read a bit first before trying.
