Vendor return not possible after Putaway in EWM

Hi,

I have the following business process:

PO is created in ECC -> EGR is distributed to EWM -> Inbound Delivery is created in EWM -> GR is posted in EWM -> Stock is put into final storage bin

(ECC 6.0 / S/4 EWM 1909)

Now I need to create return deliveries for certain inbound deliveries.

When I open the IBD in /SCWM/PRDI and go to Follow-On Function -> Return to Vendor VL60 in ECC can only be called in display mode and I get the following message "ASN has been created in external Warehouse. Only display possible".

When I call VL60 manually in ECC I get the same message.

When I try to create a return delivery via MIGO with reference to the material document I get the following error:

Unable to update inbound delivery since already distributed to dec.system

Surely there must be a way to return the goods to the vendor, yet nothing seems to work..
