Hello Experts,
Is there a way that we can copy a source planning area in 2 different planning areas with same MDT prefix.
For example - I use a Demand filter of UNIPA and create a new planning area 'PA1' with MDT prefix 'ABC'.
Next, I use Supply filter of UNIPA and create second planning area 'PA2' with MDT prefix 'ABC'.
When doing this the system gives the error 'MDT with prefix ABC already exists'.
Is there a way to achieve this so that we can create different copies of the same planning area with same MDT prefix and future it gives the flexibility of merging the planning areas.

HI Basu,
1) Create two new Planning areas by copying the "CREATE NEW" option (Earlier it was simple copy)
2) Name target planning areas ID different from the source.(DP&SP)
3) Use the same Source Planning area for both newly created PAs.
4) later you can merge the planning area.
Please be noted that for the merging planning area. For more information please go through the below link.
Hope this will help you.

Hi Lokesh,
I copied the source SP planning area to a new planning area using "CREATE NEW" option. Then merged existing DP planning area into this new planning area.
This way, we managed to retain configuration for both SP & DP planning areas but would have been better if MDT wasn't shared.
Thanks
A.Basu.
Hi,
