Usage of PDS Priority in PP/DS Optimizer for allocation preference

Hello, SAP APO Ecosystem

We have the following scenario:

SAP IBP will generate planned orders for a whole week in the last week day and Order Based will post them in SAP ECC connected with SAP APO.

After our PP/DS PDSs are generated via CIF in SAP APO, we are maintained PDS Priority at Header Level, along with Procurement priority in SNP 2 Product Master View(initially via PDS_MAINT but we will make it in a massive way later).

Our settings in Model and Planning Version Management (/SAPAPO/MVM) are set to take product priority into account with valor " " (since we don't have MTO, our MTS processes will follow Product Priorities.)

Our resources are multi-mixed ones and we have maintained several pooled capacities together with resource main capacity to properly address the scheduling constraints, so we had multiple capacity requirements set for each resource and its usage in PDS and planned orders.

Example: product A has 4 model molds resource that can be used in a foaming line that fits 10 mold slots per round, similar to an oven....So, 4 orders of same product A can be placed together in the foaming line, while remaining 6 slots can be occupied by other products models (molds).

Our goal is that PP/DS Optimizer would see the PDS Header priority value and would try to put it first on the scheduling sequence as preferred combinations.

From where we could model and test, DS Heuristics for finite scheduling can be used but due to complexity involved in several different capacity category instants and constrains in a single model, so we would like to make it readable to be understood by PP/DS Optimizer.

How can it be accomplished in PP/DS Optimizer? What am I missing here?

Hi, As far as I am aware the PP/DS optimizer will not prioratize based on those Header Priority values on the PDS. You Should try and use the PDS mode costs present in the optimizer profile, the prioritization rules must be defined by applying appropriate costs to the relevant PDS. I hope this helps.

FYI, Priority in APO Product Master did the job.
