Hi All,
The BUoM of a product is CS and the different conversion factors are maintained but in APO DP planning book - we can change to un-defined unit also. How it is possible ?
Litre and KG is not defined in Product Master but I can convert from CS to KG and L.
Please suggest.

Hello,
For a certain key figure, field "UOM" is checked in planning area setting (transaction /SAPAPO/MSDP_ADMIN), so that it could be displayed in product's base UOM in the planning books.
Please refer SAP note on it,
429131 - Consultation: Units of Measure and
959610 - Unit of measure conversion in interactive planning
The conversion, the system decides whether the conversion occurs in the application (simple conversion) or in the liveCache (aggregated conversion) as described in the following:
•A simple conversion occurs if
1. the units of measure are in the same dimension (for example, mass: KG -> TO) or
2. a product is selected or
3. several products are selected for which you have maintained the same conversion for the corresponding unit in the product master

Hi Brahmankar,
In MSDP_ADMIN under KF details - I think the check indicator is needed if the PA UoM and BUoM of product is different and the check makes it happen to use BUoM from product master.
In my case - the PA UoM and Product BUoM is same - i.e. CS.
Today I noticed that the conversion is using the gross weight and volume to convert from CS to KG and CS to L respectively.
If I maintain conversion b/w CS and KG then system takes this factor (if not maintained then conversion happens using gross weight).
Can we disable this functionality or only option left is to delete the gross weight and volume ?
Please share your thoughts.

Prabhat
