Hi,
There are 5 main payroll cluster tables (PCL1 to PCL5) in HR.
It can be easily noticed from the attachment, the size of the PCL4 table was increasing at a rate of 65 MB (approx ) in every two months till 2016.
However, the respective increase in the size of this table during the months of Jan 2017 and Feb 2017, were 21.5 GB and 19 GB approx. This increase in the size is irrational as the number of off cycle payments has not changed.
The file size of PCL4 table was 1.5 GB on 1.1.2017 but now it's unexpectedly reached to 42 GB.
(1) Is there any way to reduce the size of PCL4 table?
(2) What will the most probable reason for this abnormal increase in the table size?
Best Regards,
Lalit Sejwal
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Lalit,
Are you using the Income Tax Declaration application for Payroll-India? If yes, then the Investment Proofs submitted in January and February could be the reason behind the increase in the size of PCL4.

Aman

you can use PCL4 archiving
Also are you using infotypes logging for audit purposes? ie using RPUAUD00
The PCL2 table is used to save payroll data, the outsourcing data and other data.
The PCL4 is used to save remuneration data, log data and other data.
You can see that by doing F4 help in transaction SE16N for the field RELID (PCL2 ID or PCL4 ID)
To archive payroll data, there is transaction PU22 and if you want to delete outsource data IF cluster, there is program RPCIFU06.

Probably you put it into a wrong bin? Check your putaway strategy. I mean, it must be something like this, if you put this question under the tab "SAP EWM - Basis".
