Unable to provide edit access to Key Figures in SAP IBP Excel Add - in

Hello Experts,

I have a very strange issue. I have assigned a user with all required catalogs and assigned permission filter with unrestricted Read, Write access including key figures access.

But somehow user is unable to edit the key figures (Editable Key Figure Always). Whenever user puts some data in key figure field and hits Save Data button in excel, it says "You have 0 valid changes".

I tried the below cases.

Case1: Tried with admin role access, it worked.

Case2: In the custom role, I made write,read access unrestricted, it worked.

Case3: In the custom role, I tried several attempts by making each restriction object(General, Planning Objects, Key Figures etc) as "Unrestricted" and tested to understand which restriction is controlling edit access, but I am unable to find.

How can this be achieved? I am really tired of finding an answer. The authorization trace nor Application log is giving any relevant information. Kindly advice. Thank you.

Note: Permission filter is directly assigned to user.

Hello Experts,

To add, user is able to edit the key figures by changing the scenario in template to other scenario. But when Baseline scenario is selected, user is unable to edit. (Baseline scenario is by default selected when a template is chosen)

Any way we can provide access to baseline scenario? Thank you.

Hi Surya,

Can you try to put Unrestricted access on the "Version-Specific Key Figures" section of the business role as well? That should do the trigger.

Thank you Ivan. This worked.

But management wants to disable the Promote checkbox (under Scenario --> Manage). By putting unrestricted access on "Version-Specific Key Figures" this cannot be controlled.

Yes, Surya,

I am afraid that you will only be able to fully block the Scenario management via the SCENARIO Administration Function.

Maybe you can send an Improvement request as well asking for this to be made more flexible on future releases:
