TS Supply Optimizer - Demand Fulfillment Rate calculations on business logs

Hi everyone, 

I need help to understand how the Location Demand Fulfillment Rate and Total Demand Fulfillment Rate that are shown in the business logs are calculated, since I can't find any info in the help portal. 

In our model we don't have any customer demand, we only have independent demands. So the input key figure for the optimizer is the INDEPENDENTDEMAND, while the delivered amount per period should be reflected in the INDEPENDENTDEMANDSUPPLY. Also, we run the optimizer by subnetwork.

I thought the formula was as simple as: (INDEPENDENTDEMANDSUPPLY / INDEPENDENTDEMAND) * 100

For some subnetworks that we have, this formula seems working fine. But for other subnetworks I'm finding huge discrepancies, so I'm not so sure I'm considering the right key figures anymore.

To give an example, for one subnetwork I'm seeing these data in the business logs: 

-Amount missing: 1,115,774 (for both total and location, in this example they appear to be the same but I found many other cases were they re not)

Then if I go in the template, filtering by that subnetwork ID, and checking the total amounts of INDEPENDENTDEMAND and INDEPENDENTDEMANDSUPPLY (selecting the same planning scope of the optimizer run), I see these number: 

-INDEPENDENTDEMAND: 98,641,645

-INDEPENDENTDEMANDSUPPLY: 98,058,986

Then the missing amount should be only:  582,659 

I can't find where the other missing amounts come from. Has anyone ever had the same issue?

Hello Luca,

the optimizer also gets demands from not selected subnetworks that are connected to the current selection. These subnetwork demands are also passed as independent/location demands to the optimizer and are therefore included in the location demand fulfillment rate. Hope this explains the differences in your numbers.
You can see all demands that have been passed to the optimizer in the planning run monitor.
