When I read the documentation on TUs / Vehicles in EWM I see them being used almost interchangeably. There seems to be no fixed rule saying that based on this scenario use TU and on this scenario use Vehicle. Could you guide me on the difference between the two ?
Lets say I have a scenario where I have a carton which I want to pack into a pallet and put 5 similar pallets into a truck. Does it make sense to use a TU as a pallet and truck as a vehicle. Or can we combine all cartons into a higher level Handling unit (Pallet) and pack all the related ODOs into a TU (Truck).
Request clarification before answering.

As Ajit Routray wrote, you should use Packing function to pack your boxes onto pallet then load it into the Transportation Unit.
The related TU should be linked to a Vehicule.
Also, you should have a look to Best Practices

Hi Leo,
Vehicle -https://help.sap.com/saphelp_ewm94/helpdata/en/4f/c60cfe2e2427d6e10000000a42189c/content.htm?loaded_from_frameset=true
As per my understanding, please use load functionality on TU/vehicle ( carton pack to pallet, then pallet load to TU/vehicle) instead of pack in TU, it would give better process clarity.
Please let us know if you have further queries.
Kind Regards,
Ajit
