TM normalized quantity is not calculated / field is empty

The transports from the supplier to our locations are planned with TM based on purchase orders. This works fine so far.

Only the capacity is not calculated as desired. We want to calculate the capacity based on pallets (nominated capacity). We think we have made all necessary settings but the fields are empty and the capacity calculation does not consider the nominal quantity (see screenshot Freight Order and Freight Unit).

Screenshot Freight Order:

Screenshot Freight Unit:

Item tab of the FU:

For the settings we followed the link below. https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_TRANSPORTATION_MANAGEMENT/54cf405c9d9e4c96bf091967ea29d6a7/8766684f1c8...

Below are all the settings made. Did we do something wrong or is something still missing?

IMG > Define Package Building Profile (only 1 Profile):

IMG > Define Freight Unit Types (ZIDP):

IMG > Define Freight Order Types (ZIIT):

Fiori App > Edit Planning Profile (ZPP_...)

I am grateful for any advice 🙂

Best Regards

Simon

Hi Simon, please check your freight unit building rule to ensure the package building profile is mentioned there in the advanced settings. You can specify “Estimate Package Count Only” if you do not want to build packages but only estimate the count. Then you should see NORMLOADCONSVAL and NORMLOADCONSUOM populated on the freight unit root. Later in planning, the freight order normalized quantity and normalized capacity should be calculated as expected based on your screenshots.

Hello All,

I am facing a similar issue where I cannot see NLQ quantity in the FU or freight order even though I have everything defined at the customizing/master data level, e.g. -

  • NLQ UoM in package builder
  • NLQ UoM in FU
  • NLQ UoM in FO
  • Package builder at the FUBR level

I will keep on looking into this myself but I have another thing to discuss here:

I am working on a business case where 2 ADT (air dry metric TON) units of the main product comprise 1 package. ADT is a base unit of measurement of the primary product. My doubt is that what value shall I maintain under Normalized quantity so that it creates 1 DU (NLQ UoM)? Is it,5?

Hello Sarah

That was exactly the missing piece of the puzzle 🙂 There was no profile defined!

Freight Unit Building Rule (corrected rule):

Now I have a value in Normalized Quantity.

Freight Unit:

Freight Order:

I have only one issue left, the value is not correct.

Best Regards

Simon

Hi Simon
Sorry for confusing you , I meant the field "Normalized Quantity"

Just to be double sure please check if the vehicle resource master data is also maintained correctly.
"You have entered the capacity for the normalized quantity in the default unit of measure in the master data for the resources you are using"
For more information, see Definition of Capacity.

If its still doesnt work , debugging will help
