Trying to understand OSS Note 1046965 which explains TLB Backtracking.
TLB execution Date 23.04.2007
product A 1000 PC = 10 Pallets date 23.04.2007
product B 1000 PC = 10 Pallets date 23.04.2007
product B 1200 PC = 12 Pallets date 24.04.2007
product C 1300 PC = 13 Pallets data 25.04.2007
Pallets = 100 for Products A & B mainatined in Product Master.
Product A rounding value = 500
Product B rounding value = 200
TLB rules 6 < Pallets < 9
Pull-in Horizon : 5 Days
Scenario 1: Backtracking Off
For the current period there is a demand of 10 + 10 = 20 pallets.
As per the product sort the first load is for Quantity 1000 and rounding value multiple 2.When the load build happens it takes the first rounding value mutiple which give 5 pallets and it will loop again and take the next rounding value mutiple which will again be 5 pallets and the total would be 10 pallets, which is above the TLB rule,so the current load is invalid and no furhter build for the period is considered.If the pull-in horizon is maintained then the demand for the next days are also considered and same logic is followed to find a valid load for that period.
TLB should start with Product A which has rounding multiple of 5 and not 2 as specified above. TLB should start with 5 Pallets of A then try adding 5 more Pallets of A, since exceeds TLB Profile why wouldn't TLB then try 2 pallets of Product B?
