Time-Series-Based Supply Planning Finite Heuristic not doing early Production

2,151

HI Team

We are using Time-Series-Based Supply Planning Finite Heuristic in IBP Supply .

We are coming across case where We dont have enough capacity to meet the demand in W09 but we have some spare in W08, but it is not using any capacity of earlier weeks to fulfil later demand. so it is not offering any early production to meet later demand.

Is finite heuristics propose early production ? or this feature not available.

Hi,

It should do the pre-build if capacity is available in earlier weeks. in my tests its doing the prebuild to meet the future demand.

Please check your master data setup again like finite resource, capacity consumption policy etc (SAP Help link is below)

Time-Series-Based Supply Planning Finite Heuristic

Thanks

Hi,

Resource capacity of previous periods not covered by future demands. The finite heuristic takes the value of that planning period and consider the source of supply from that period and fulfill the demand.

If the demand for a location product is 500, stock on hand is 320, and there are no sources of supply for the location product, the supply planning finite heuristic calculates a supply of 320 pieces, taken from the stock on hand. This means that demand is only partly satisfied, leaving a deficit of 180 pieces.

If the demand for a location product is 500, stock on hand is 320, and there are sources of supply for the location product can fulfill 100, the supply planning finite heuristic calculates a supply of 320 pieces, taken from the stock on hand and 100 from the source of supply (total 320+100=420). This means that demand is only partly satisfied, leaving a deficit of 80 pieces.

Finite heuristic resource prerequisites:

Make sure that you have maintained the CONSTRAINTTYPE master data attribute to finite (constraint type F) in Location Resource.

Capacity Consumption Policy attribute (PCAPACONSPOLICY) to "0 -All capacity usage is assigned to the output period" in the master data type SOURCEPRODUCTION.
