Time bucket profile does not show correct period list

Hi Experts,

I created new fiscal year variant with 61 periods in each year. then I assigned the same in storage bucket profile. Subsequently created a planning area, planning book.

Then I tried creating time bucket profile for fiscal year variant, getting below error:

1. Input error  8 in row 1: See long text

Input error  8 in row 1: See long text

Message no. /SAPAPO/MA840

Diagnosis

The system cannot interpret one or more of your entries.

Procedure

Note the error number in the error message short text and check it against the error description below:

001: The period indicator that you have entered is not available. To choose a valid period indicator, use F4 Help.

002: The fiscal year variant that you have entered does not exist. To choose a valid fiscal year indicator, use F4 Help.

003: Specify a fiscal year variant for this fiscal period.

004: Define the number of periods.

005: Enter a display periodicity that is smaller than the basic periodicity; for example, you can enter a display periodicity of 'W' if the basic periodicity is 'M'.

006: Enter a basic periodicity that is smaller than the one in the previous line.

007: Enter a number of periods for the basic periodicity such that one line represents a longer time than the next line. For example, if you specify on one line that the first month is displayed in weeks, you must not specify on the next line that the first 6 weeks are displayed in days, because 6 weeks are longer than 1 month.

2. The error is removed if I enter number of periods as 45 only. And even after entering 45 periods, it only shows periods starting from current date always.

3. While entering the validity horizon for display & input for time bucket profile in creating data view for the periods, it gives message that no values for periods.

Pls help.

Thanks

Hello Krutika,

If you are using a year dependent fiscal year variant then the fiscal year variant should be extended upto the 45 or X periods you are trying to put in the Time Bucket profile.

Assuming its 45 fiscal weeks in your case then check if your fiscal year variant is extended for next year or not. My guess it its not, extend it and try again.

Thank Abhishek! The error is gone in declaring time bucket profile, when I modified shortened period number to 61, earlier 60, as I have total 61 periods in variant, fix 5 periods per month.

Now, I have periods as first 3 weeks are 7 days fix. Last period is 3 days fix and rest remaining 6 or 7 days in 4th period. This is for all months in a year. The variant is year dependent. I have extended , declared periods from 2014-2018.

E.g. I have declared March 2016 periods as 1-7th = Period1

8-14th = Period 2

15 - 21st = Period 3

22-28th = Period 4

29,30,31st = Period 5

Then also in time bucket profile--> Period list, it shows 29th as 1 day Period , and then followed by 30,31,1st as next Period. PFA screen. Not sure why the period list shows different periods than I have declared in variant.

Thanks!

Hello Krutika,

It's showing perfectly the same periods as you have declared in the FYV.

As per your FYV

P15 is 23 to 29 of month 3 (7days) (only one day left from current date)

P16 is 30 to 1 of month 4 (3days)

P17 is 2 to 8 of month 4 (7days)

I don't know your design but think below point will be helpful...

In //TR30 it shows the periods starting from current date to the end of the bucket profile for review. Also the day which you enter in FYV is the end date of the bucket and not the start date.
