Supply shortage KF not populating when running TS Optimizer

Hi Guys

After a long time back here.

I am trying to run a scenerio using TS optimiser in IBP where is i have given huge independent demand and limited capacity. In an ideal situation the optimiser should not be able to fullfill all the demand and thier will be some amount of supply shortage. But the KF SHORTAGE which is supply shortage is not getting populated even though i could see in the optimiser log that many demands are unfullfilled. But still nothing shows up in the supply shortage KF.

What am i missing ?

Hi Ayan,

As documented in the SAP Help Portal Location Product, after a supply plan has been calculated by the optimizer, the shortage is always zero. This is because the optimizer doesn’t calculate the Dependent Demand key figure explicitly, but instead sets it to the same value as the Supply key figure. The same is true for the Deficit key figure.

Do you want to calculate shortage at the location with Independent Demand? If so, you may create a new key figure with the following calculation: INDEPENDENTDEMAND - INDEPENDENTDEMANDSUPPLY.
