Subcontracting Without Source Location in PP/DS / Failure at order creation

Hello,

We want to implement the flow "Subcontracting Without Source Location in PP/DS" using Contract or inforecord . It failes since when trying to créate an Order manually in the Product view, I get the opportunity to select either the source "inforecord" or the source "contract"

We have created in ECC :

• Subcontracting inforecord and Contract with item category L
• Source list
• Production version with the BOM with the component and one operation with the resource "subcontractor"
• MRP View with the special procurement key "30"
• the production version is assigned to the subcontracting inforecord

I have CIFed those object and I have got in APO:

• external procurements with the "subcontractor" information
• transportation lane from subcontractor location type "vendor" (not "subcontractor" since we have only one subcontractor) with the external procurement "subcontracting"attached
• the PPM usage PPDS on the destination location with the components and resource CIFed. I did not select in the integration model the type "subcontract" since the PPM has to be created on destination location, not on subcontractor site ( none product created on vendor )

When I want to create manually the order from /SAPAPO/RRP3 View. I find the possibles sources: either contract or inforecord. But when I adopt one ( whatever the source selected) , I get the message "

Hello,

PPM and at least one resource must exist in the destination location

The PPM must also be active.

Product specific transportation lane between plant and vendor location should be there.

Hello,

I allready used the link to maintain the master data. It does not work. Something else is missing that is not specified in the link

PPM is active ( CIFed from version) and the transporetation lane is for header product from vendor to plant ( I also assigned a transportation resource on it) . In this scenario "without source Location), I do not thing we need a lane from plant to vendor

In the SAP Note 1905822, it seems that we need to have the information of "subcontracting" in the PDS. I used PPM CIFed from ECC without the flag "subcontracting" in the integration model setting because I thought that we need the flag "subcontracting" in the PPM integration model only for the scenario "subcontracting With Source Location in PPDS".  When I tried with the flag "subcontracting", I got nothing since the products (header and component) not created on vendor location in this scenario.

Do you think I am OK ?

You need to have subcontracting PPM   Refer Consulting note 565024 - Transfer of subcontracting PPM creates product master data in the subcontractor location

Hello R Brahmankar,

In the SAP Help for "subcontracting Without Source Location in PP/DS" , in the process step 2 : "The subcontracting components are MRP-relevant in your own plant - not (as in the case of subcontracting with a source location ) at the vendor's site".

When reading the SAP Note 1905822, it seems that product being not created on vendor location, the replenishment is done through a special subcontracting segment . I do not have found how to get it ...

Could you confirm that your proposal is to build "Subcontracting with Source Location in PP/DS" instead of building "Subcontracting Without Source Location in PPDS" but to built Subcontracting with Source Location ?

In any case, I have going to have a look at the note you propose 565024

What is the procurement type defined for subcontracting material?

Also note SAP recommend using the production data structure instead of the production process model.

It is now working.

The solution is a mix of "Subcontract flow without source location" , where the creation of product in subcontractor site is said to be not necessary and of the "subcontract flow with source location, where we need to activate the integration model on object PPM with the flag "subcontractor"

The external procurement is "F"

In fact, it seem that code based on PPM integration model flaged "subcontractor" is used, not to generate PPM but to ...create the componenent on the subcontractor site.....

I also created an other integration model to generate the PPM on the destination location

Hi Christine,

For the Material which you have created BOM, you need to add production version in material master first at MRP4 view, then only you can use it PO or Production Orders.

For better clarification paste the error shot.

Thank you for your idea, I have checked the MRP4 view: when creating and checking the production version, this get automaztically assigned to the MRP4 view. To be more sure , after having CIFed the production version in destination location ( not subcontractor since scenario "without source location" ), I have activated again the product.

Today, I also created transportation resource that I assigned to the transportation lane from subcontractor to location . Afterwards I could generate with /SAPAPO/CDPSB1 purchase requisition assigned to the vendor but not "subcontracting Purchase requisition" (we had a source not subcontracting)

When I manually create Order in /SAPAPO/RRP3 View and I try to "adopt" either the subcontracting inforecord or the contract with subcontracting item, I still get the message : "Error occured while creating order"

My header product is external procured (F) , in the Scenario "Subcontracting Without Source Location in PP/DS, The PPM is not created on the vendor location but on the destination location but the system does not seem to "see" the PPM usage PPDS with the resource on destination location

I deleted the objects not "subcontracting" ( contract with line not "L" , external procurement based on this "old" contract line. Consequence is that  /sAPAPO/CDPSB1 do not generate anymore any purchase requisition sourced.
