Subcontracting stock in MRP Area avaible in the plant for MRP Live

Hello Expert,

in my customer’s System with PP/DS we’ve activated MRP Area for handling the subcontracting.

Now, business requires that material stock in the MRP Area to be view as avaible by the plant which the MRP Area belong during the MRP run.

Here's an example:

For material 4003266, at plant level, we've a negative balance of 104 PC.

In the MRP Area, we've instead and Avaible qty of 330 PC.

The desired behaviour is that the MRP didn't create any purchase req. (since the material has Procurement type "F") at plant level because it sees the stock at in the MRP Area.

How can we achieve it? Some customizing of the PP/DS heuristic (we use SAP_MRP_001 Heuristic with /SAPAPO/HEU_MRP_PLANNING with Algorithm) or at material level?

Or maybe we have to activate BAdI MDPS_ADJUST and write some abap code? In this case, do you have any example?

Hi ,

The MRP live transaction (MD01n) should be able to consider all MRP areas stock before generating the new receipts depending on the other settings. Please check OSS note 2640393, where it clearly states " MRP Live can plan many materials in many plants. It always plans all MRP areas".

If you are using PPDS for subcontracting you would need to provide the further details. Even in that scenario MRP live does plan MRP areas.
