Stock Type not changed after unloading in EWM

Hi all,

I have created a plant with two Sloc (ROD and AFS) just like normal standard scenario. The Availability Group and Stock Types are mapped accordingly.

I have mapped the ROD with the storage type Inbound Staging Area (Y910) through the availability group and check mandatory.

When I create an inbound delivery, I accidentally input the Sloc as AFS. Hence, the stock type in the WR item is F2. After that, I perform unloading and upon goods receipt, I receive the message saying that stock type F2 is not allowed in storage type Y910.

This is what confuses me. If we create an inbound delivery with Sloc as ROD, and then perform the putaway, the stock type is automatically changed from F1 to F2. At the IM level, the storage location also moves from ROD to AFS. However, if we put the Sloc in the delivery as AFS and do GR at inbound staging area. The Sloc in the delivery is not changed accordingly.

Does anyone know if this is a normal system behavior or the Sloc should be changed?

Hi,

"I have mapped the ROD with the storage type Inbound Staging Area (Y910) through the availability group and check mandatory."

This does not work in a storage type with a staging area group role. Only in certain storage types this feature is functional (because only there it makes sense).

And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!

Hi Juergen Pitz,

Thanks for your explanation.

I have just checked the IMG Guide. SAP says do not put Mandatory check for the storage type where GR will happen. Since this can cause the above error.

Moreover, from my understanding, the system will only create IM transfer posting for the situation when stock already belongs to the company, i.e. after goods receipt. That's why the transfer posting only happens when GR is done at ROD.

Hi Tri,

This is the standard behaviour.

Please check the link for details related to storage locations (Read Katrin's reply on below link) .
