Steps to avoid risks to change an active SAP APO planning area in production system

Hi SAP APO experts

I have been recommended to change the time-based disaggregation rule for a key figure, and leave the time-based disaggregation key figure empty, of an active APO DP planning area in production system.

I am aware we have to do this in test system first, so firstly I would like to understand the risks involved and the steps recommended to avoid them.

Hello,

De-initialized planning areas for any changes are critical as they can lead to
data loss.

Please execute a planning area backup prior to be able to restore the time series key figures of your planning area.

You can refer the following WIKI to perform the backup of the data to an infocube
