Software Provisioning Manager (SWPM) installation error due to DNS config

Hi SAP Gurus,

The sapinst.exe to install SWPM won't launch properly, instead the program starter is launched with the note below. Need help on this. Thanks!

Firstly, did you try to enter the URL provided in the logs?

Based on the log entry:

ERROR in Selftest. Return code: 3 Check if there is another sapinst process is running on the same host and using the same HTTPS port.

I would assume there is already a working instance of SWPM. Try to firstly find the processes at OS level and kill them, then restart the SWPM and access the page. I wouldn't worry too much at the moment about the missing FQDN.

But there is also another problem. Your hostname is longer than 13 chars, and that means you will anyway encounter issue during install. You need to correct it.
