SNP flow step by step

Hello Guru's,

Could you please explain step by step SNP flow in APO along with screenshots that happen in SNP planning book.

We are using SNP heuristics for planning.

What I know theoretically in basic is as follows

1. release forecast from DP to SNP.

2. run heuristics.

3. Deployment and TLB.

But after releasing forecast to SNP what changes happen to different key figure after performing each step ?

What action we need to perform in ECC for complete flow.

Thanks in advance

Yogesh

Dear Yogesh, your question is very generic, which might be the reason why you did not receive any feedback so far, as well as for your similar question earlier this year (https://answers.sap.com/questions/13227406/sap-apo-process-flow.html). Let me answer very roughly (similar to the question raised) and dive into the details if you require:

1. release forecast from DP to SNP

you have performed demand planning in a DP planning area and transfer the result of it, lets say key-figure "Final Demand" to SNP into category FC or FA. Afterwards you can see this demand in product view and SNP planning book as demand.

2. run heuristics

SNP Heuristic performs a net demand calculation based on all the demand and supplies. Sure it means you have to integrate all the transactional data (and master data) from ECC upfront. Next SNP Heuristic tries to source the net demand, depending on the procurement type and available sources of supply. This will create planned orders and stock transfers as supplies and dependent demands for components in case of inhouse production and distribution demands in the source locations in case of external procurement. Next depending on the selection SNP-Heuristic will continue to plan the location products having those dependent demands.

3. Deployment and TLB.

In the short term horizon the real supplies generated from the production and distribution planning proposals need to be distributed from the supply side to the demand side, this is done in Deployment. Imagine you had a total forecast of 100EA for several distribution centers and SNP Heuristic planned to produce 100EA in the source location. However only 80 are really become available due to scrap or manual change of the SNP Heuristic proposal. Now deployment has to decide how to distribute this shortage. Deployment will delete or reduce the SNP proposal (distribution demand planned) into distribution demand confirmed (Depl). This has a different ATP category and usually represents a purchase order in ECC.

Additionally you can run TLB (optional step) to group the purchase orders of different products into one order considering min/max. loads (volume, weight, floor spots).
