Hi,
I have created couple of simulation versions in planning board to check the feasibility of orders and have created in a different names.
But when I do a planning in plant, my simulation versions are getting over written by the active versions.
Means after that both my active real version and simulation verison looks same (simulation version data is replaced with active data).
Please let me know the reason and how we can restrict it.
Thanks,
Prasanth

Hello,
If you save the current simulation version under another already existing name. In this case, the already existing simulation version is overwritten.
Please refer
Updating the Simulation Version - Detailed Scheduling Topics - SAP Library
and OSS Note "600841 - Features of a saved simulation version" describes this behavior:
Also check if BAdi /SAPAPO/CDPS_SIMCTRL is implement in your system.

Thanks Brahmankar.
We found that BADI /SAPAPO/CDPS_SIMCTRL is not yet implemented in our system.
As per my understanding, based on SAP note all the changed orders in simulation version wont get updated from active version but all the unchanged orders will get updated to simulation version from active version.
But for me whether changed or not in simulation version, it is completely getting updated from active version after the planning run.
Will implementation of BADI /SAPAPO?CDPS_SIMCTRL help us to keep the simulation version intact? Does it will have any other side effects.
Please advice me.
Thanks,
Prasanth
Hi Again,
Note 600841 is for older versions and ours is the latest one.
Moreover why the simulation versions are completely overwritten by active version during planning run, as per the note its should not touch the orders changed in the simulated versions in simulation mode.
Please let me know how we can restrict it or it a bug in SAP.
Thanks,
Prasanth
Hello.
SAP confirmed that always simulation version will be over written by the planning from active version and hence it is not a bug.
But they asked to check the option of copying to an another version and then to create a simulation version from that and which could probably help.
Thanks,
Prasanth
